What we do

Every part of post.
Or just the part you need.

Editing and finishing
Offline edits, online finishing, and everything in between. Brand films, commercials, corporate video, and social cutdowns built around the story first.
Color grading
A color pass that makes footage from different days, cameras, and crews look like it belongs together, and matches your brand's look every time.
Motion graphics and titles
Animated graphics, titles, lower thirds, and branded packages. We take on the motion work your team doesn't have time for.
Audio mix and sound design
Dialogue cleanup, music editing, sound design, and final mix, including full surround mixes for cinema playback.
Versioning and localization
Market-specific cuts, dealer and location tags, offer versions, and Hispanic market post. One campaign, every version it needs.
Delivery for every screen
Broadcast, streaming, cinema, web, and social. Every deliverable formatted, checked, and sent the way each platform needs it.
How we work

We step in wherever
the gap is.

Got an in-house team that shoots but needs post? An edit that needs a color pass? Motion graphics your team doesn't have time for? We pick up the work exactly where you need us to.

We're comfortable working inside someone else's workflow as much as running our own. Your brand standards, your review process, your deadlines.

And when the project is bigger than post, we can handle the shoot too. See our video production services.

Your footage, our finish
Send us what you shot. We'll edit, grade, mix, and deliver it, whether it came from your team, your agency, or another production company.
Your editors, our extra hands
We work alongside internal video teams at Fortune 500 companies, taking the motion graphics and post work when their team is at capacity.
Specific roles only
Need a colorist, a motion designer, or a mix and nothing else? Book exactly the post role the project needs.
Built for tight deadlines
Rush and deadline-driven delivery is a normal week for us. Sales meetings, launches, and air dates don't move, so we plan the post schedule around them.
The track record

Regional post.
National brands.
Every screen.

McDonald's
Regional post-production at national scale for one of the world's most recognizable brands
Kia
Hispanic market post-production for one of the world's leading automotive manufacturers
Kubota
Dealer-specific tagging and offer content, nationwide
Cinergy
Web, OTT, and cinema versions of every loyalty spot, customized for six locations, with a surround mix produced in-house

They have gone the extra mile to understand our specific branding needs, our post-production workflow, and our company culture, to the point that they are a seamless extension of XPO's video team.

The edit bay

Editors who think
about the story
first.

Side Chops was founded by an editor, and it still works like it. We're thinking about the cut before the camera rolls, and about the story before anything else.

These are the editors at the core of the studio. Meet the whole team.

Shelby Miller · CEO, Senior Editor
More than twenty years as a Creative Editor and Motion Graphics Artist in Dallas agency post at West End Post, Post Op, charlie uniform tango, and Fast Cuts, cutting for brands like Taco Bell, BMW, Subaru, and Six Flags.
Whit Cooper · Multi-Discipline Production & Post Specialist
Whit shoots, edits, color grades, and directs, so he sees the whole project from the first frame to the final export. He stays on top of the latest trends and tools, and a background in DJing and making music shows in how his cuts move.
Bobby Friske · Senior Videographer & Editor
Started in audio and edits with a musician's sense of rhythm. He's contributed to projects for Six Flags, McDonald's, Methodist Hospital, Honda, and DART.
Who this is right for

You'll know if this sounds like you.

Your team shoots its own content but needs help in post. You've got the footage. You need someone to turn it into something finished.
You're an agency that needs a post partner without the overhead. Editors, color, motion, and mix when you need them, without staffing up for every job.
Your campaign needs dozens of versions. Markets, dealers, locations, offers, languages. We set it up once and deliver every version.
Part of the project is handled and you need someone to take the rest. A rough cut that needs finishing, a finished cut that needs color and mix, or graphics that need to be built.
Common questions

What people ask
before the first call.

Can you edit footage we shot ourselves?
Yes. A lot of our post work starts with footage someone else shot, whether that's an in-house team, an agency, or another production company. Send us what you have and we'll tell you what we can make from it.
Can you work alongside our in-house editors?
Yes. We work with internal video teams at Fortune 500 companies, taking on motion graphics, color, mix, or extra editing when their team is at capacity. We fit into how you already work.
Can we hire you for just color, motion graphics, or the mix?
Yes. You can book a specific post role, like a colorist or a motion designer, without handing over the whole project.
How fast can you turn around an edit?
It depends on the length, the number of versions, and how many rounds of review are involved. Rush and deadline-driven delivery is a normal part of our work. Tell us the date and we'll tell you what's realistic.
What formats can you deliver?
Broadcast, streaming and OTT, web, social, and cinema, including DCP delivery with a surround mix. We format every version for where it's going to run.
Who owns the project files when we're done?
You do. Raw footage, project files, and finals go back to you when the project wraps, and we never charge usage fees for the work we create for you. If a piece uses licensed music or voiceover talent, those can carry their own licensing or usage fees. We'll spell those out before you approve them.

Already have footage?
We'll handle the rest.

Tell Gerald what you've got and when you need it. He'll ask the right questions and tell you how we'd approach it. That's the whole first call.
